Has anyone found a "go to" place for the best price on Varget? I'd like to get 4 or 8 lb container for the best deal. Local gun show has been empty twice in a row for Varget. Any leads?

Price seems irrelevant. I've been watching eight online sellers since October. Nobody will admit to having it in stock. Did score two 1 pounders at a gun show two weeks ago. 1/4 of what I want for the year. But that was all he had, he said. Bless him, he did not charge me the famine rate for it.

I just bought 3 pound of it today for 26.97$ a pound. There are places that have it online, but you have to do some digging. I just looked to see if I could send you the link where I got mine, and sorry to say they sold out.
The best price on Varget right now is when you see it in stock. Pay the man.
Local gun shop has 25 pounds of it on the shelf now. 26.95 per.
I just heard last weekend there is someplace in Los Angeles that has alot of it in stock, but they want $240 for an 8 pound jug. At that price I'm waiting...
My LGS has plenty of 1#ers on the shelf now too. Things are looking up!
got 10lbs comin out of my ears, don't even use it! now if I could just get some H50 or 20n29, sigh
I am not sure why you would go to a gun show for powder. I have found that the people at gun shows jack up their prices on most everything. Though I guess in this day and age we have to take what we can get. Here is what I would go to a local shooting range, gun shop, which every sells reloading supplies and befriend the owner. Ask him to give you a call when he knows he will be getting a shipment of powder X. It also pays to befriend shooting range owners, especially if you reload/cast bullets. Great source for lead and brass and if you are like me you get to shoot for free as well as free targets.
Got some at Wal-Mart for 27.00 a pound 2 weeks ago.
Outdoor Junction in Crossville, TN had some Friday. Several 1 lb cases at $24.99/lb. They also HAD some 4759. It somehow came home with me.
At one with the gun.
I just bought 4 1# Varget, dont know what I paid... Saw it, bought it... didnt care price
Doc
Picked up two lbs of it a few days ago. Don't know how long it will last with me loading 42gr per shot.
Check every local fun store. You may be surprised what you find. There is no shortage here 8lbs. 153$+tax. Sometimes a hole in the wall non big box will treat you right.
At 230$ I'd pass, switch powders, or otherwise make due.
If you think your a hammer everything looks like a nail.
Did the "Canister and Surplus Powder" section close down?
My Anchor is holding fast!
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
Rifle powders aren't as hard in my area to find as pistol/shotgun powders. You'd almost get into fist fights over them some days.
