The hat would be blown off your head and gone in the first three jumps a cow pony would make when spurred into a breaking run !
Try it out. They need a good keeper on them, to keep them tight. Much more comfortable than under the chin, and it will keep a hat on your head on the east side of Montana antelope hunting. It gets a bit breezy over there.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Why do Texans wear their big hats with the edges rolled up?

To make sure the rain water runs off the front end and not down your back.

That is if it ever does rain in Texas.

Oh, it does, about 24-28" per year. And you should be here the day we get it!

Threads like this are one of the reasons I like this site so much. You all are hilarious! I saw that when you "Three Amigos" first did it, thought it was pretty clever.

The only hat I wear is a hard hat. I've seen some advertised that look like cowboy hats, but they're a little too ostentatious for me. One of my coworkers has one painted to look like a WWII helmet, complete with cards, letters, and M1 clip in the band. That would be a little more my style. I guess I wouldn't have to worry about visitors or contractors borrowing my hat if I had one a little different, though.

Lotsa big hats still in evidence around here-probably see a dozen men in cowboy hats in the store on an average day. I'm "all hat, no cattle" myself; today it's a smoke gray Milano with turquoise and sterling concho band-my grandmother always wanted us to dress nicely for holidays, and we've made it a tradition. Happy Thanksgiving!
