Came in from behind, stared me down, walked broad side. I put a Muzzy straight though him, pass through. He took off like a race horse. Called my brothers they came helped track and it took all 3 of us to get it in the truck!

Ran about 300 yards at a flat out run down mowed farm trails, stopped at the edge of the woods and walked in leaving copious amounts of blood, walked maybe 50 more yards and fell dead. I waited almost an hour for my brothers to get there to start tracking in the dark and rain. We never lost blood, but wasn't great till he started walking. Took 3 of us to get him in the truck!

Sounds like a great hunt and a very nice buck to boot.

Just curious, what kind of yardage do you limit yourself to with that crossbow??

Healthy looking buck, that is. I don't blame you for getting him mounted.

Erie county on the lake, 2 deer. He dressed out at 180, didn't look that much smaller than the cows they had in the cooler, definitely dwarfed some of the other deer in there. Took the head and cape in today, expect the mount back in 8 -9 months. Taxidermist thought he would score 125-135 with all the deductions he had as a non-typical.

You folks in Ohio sure raise 'em BIG! Here in Ga. that one would be a monster! Did you weigh it, perchance? And I really like the heavy bases of his antlers. All gnarly and beautiful!
