    Suggestion on a Mold

Looking for a suggestion for a Marlin 30-30 Lever gun mold. Gas check or not?

I would really prefer LEE and my funds are a bit tight.

Any flatnosed gas check design around 170 grains that is FAT enough for your Marlin will likely make you happy.

I would suggest trying a few different cast bullets before spending your hard earned money. Slug the barrel first to see what your particular barrel dia is.

FWIW! My personal favorite is tht Ranch Dog 311-165-RF. About 168gr fm ACWW lubed and gas checked.

I like the RCBS 180-FN. With my alloy, they come out at about 188 grains.

My Marlin 30-30's are all Ballard rifling.

NOE is going to making all the Ranch Dog Mold (with conventional lube grooves) as he got permission from Michael Reamy.

    I'd go for the

    30-30 Win C311-170-RF (NOE SC311-170-RF)

+1 on this one, makes me want to try more of the NOE versions of the RD designs with traditional lube grooves.

If it was easy, anybody could do it.
