Maybe you missed in my very first post in this thread where I said it was probably my fault... Thanks for your insight though, very helpful.

I never set a mold on anything except a flat type walmart hot plate only. I have a new 135gr NOE from Al. I have had some fins on one of the holes, but not all the time. It has to be shut, i tap with my lil'soft hammer. If it does do it again or get worst, i would call Al. He's always there to answer the phone. Thats alot to me.

I think setting your mold on the pot can ruin it in bought the time u made a sandwich. I just like the hot plate. Iam learning and getting very gentle with my boolit tool.

I have been a lurker here on this site for many years. Just want share my learning experience with this mould. I also had the frustration of trying you use this mould to make perfect boolits. What I found out was that I didn’t clean the mould very good when I first received it. And I wasn’t letting the lead pot and mould fully heating up. I learn lot from the pictures that Swede posted. I bought the hot plate and digital pyrometer. Also build a PID for my lead pot. I what I do now is turn on the hot plate and pot a let them come up to temperate for about 30 minutes. Then I start casting. Now the first boolits are very good usually after the third lot, I’m making perfect bullets. Thanks Swede for making a great product. And for everyone else’s input.
