With regards to gun control in this country, everyone should be asking themselves one question:
What is it that this government feels they need to do, but can't do, unless the citizens of this nation are first disarmed?
(I seriously doubt you can come up with any plausible answers that you will like...)

    Wink

Bruce (and Jeff), No purple ones yet, but I really like the color and the visibility it affords.* (Purple is my granddaughter's favorite color, btw.) Jeff, now all I have to do is make a major blunder on the forum (that's something to look forward to!).

Sounds like 1Shirt has the proper accessories for the next photo

And thanks everyone for the well-wishes. Movers arrived at the new house last Saturday and offloaded the entire household goods in 4 hours and its been taking almost the last week getting everything exactly how Mrs. Drake wants things.

Spent this morning going out to pickup a used full-size backup refrigerator/freezer for the garage (to hold hunting and fishing results!) and then replanted two Sugar Maple saplings to replace two trees that died in last year's drought. The attached picture is the retirement house for me and the Mrs. We are calling it "La Maison du Dragon Gris" since the retirement beard is coming in white to offset the salt & pepper hair...

And like I said, 1Shirt should get the next set of tights if he willing to take the next photo to be posted!

If you have to wear the royal purple, you need to do it in style! Don't worry Jim, the Kingly Golden Raiment you are sporting means you get to keep your sword

What you will need to totally blend in with old school kiwi hunters , are black shorts over those gay long johns & a green swannie , also a pair of gators .

    ChrisF,

Most of us just wear actual pants when we hunt but you guys in the Antipodes seem to do it in your own special way. With that, I am in agreement with Jim and that Jeff did start this!

Reap what you sow Jeff! Reap what ya sow!

Fear not, for though he walks on the path of purple leggings and wraps himself in floral patterns, he shall be known to all as mostly harmless and gentle, save for those times he takes up fire belching and lead spewing weapons to pursue hapless woodland creatures and to ward off intruders upon his domain.

Chris, you're just gunna confuse them more talking about a 'Swannie'.

A 'Swannie' is a woollen bush shirt/coat famous in NZ in the rural community. I have a 'knock off' version by Leda. They are toastie warm but a spot heavy when on the hill hunting so I don't wear mine as much.

    http://www.swanndri.co.nz/Mens/Bushs...Bushshirt.html

Actually, just looking at what they cost now I was disgusted. All Swandri is now made in CN and the landed cost of a bushshirt now will be about USD15.00 tops.
