dont think you will find a set of detailed drawings with dimensions... corbins.com has all the drawings but navigating that site is a PITA, you will have to scavage through the archives here in cb to get the dimensions for the dies and punches... just start a thread and ask questions and there are many experienced people here to help you out... in th end, though, it comes down to making something and trying it out then make changes as needed...

Making swaging dies is not like standard machining operations that you do off a blueprint. If you don't know what diameter a bullet is supposed be and what ogive you want and how that is figured you need to study up some more. You should be able to make your own drawings off the top of your head if you know anything about bullets.

this is a pretty good article that will give you the overview for the design of the dies... the exact dimensions can be found in the archives, do a search on cb and it is like looking for gold nuggets as you will find them here and there, after a while you got a treasure!

Thanks Cane_man. Interesting article as I think I will go the route of acquiring a lathe and make my own set. Already have friends keeping an eye out for a metal lathe.

^^^ doesnt work for some reason, this one does... the Ted Smith booklet, good info but it wont give you detailed specifics by caliber and it is somewhat hard to follow the ramblings for me, with all due respect to TS has forgotten more about swaging than i will ever know:

I found the Bob Simonson article to be quite useful in understanding the die-to-jacket diameters in terms of springback at each stage. You should be able to work back from your final diameter and just be careful what diameter tolerances you run with at each stage.

aaron, thanks for posting that... one interesting tid bit from the article is that the bench rest shooters like to have the final bullet OD slightly over sized to create a "pressure ring", said they shoot for 0.2243 as a final OD for the 0.224 caliber... sounds like what we are trying to do with cast boolits
