    My never ending project.

I have been working off and on for nearly 3 yrs on this rifle. All that needs to be done is to bead blast the metal and parkerize. I painted because I wont get to that for awhile and want to shoot the rifle. I built a HKG3 clone. Everything is legal. The lower clipped the holes, used US made trigger parts hammer sear and box. US made barrel and reciever I bent and welded up. It can never be full auto. I nearly sold it a month ago but a friend told me to keep plugging away or sell it to him. Glad I listened and narrowed my projects done too 1000 instead of a 1001.

Very nice job on one of those. I almost picked up a parts kit for the 5.56 version awhile ago and am kicking myself that I hadn't.

Cool project. I like the paint scheme as well. G3 is a great platform, I've always been a huge fan.

Try 3031 powder for your loads - my HK91 gives surprisingly good groups.

Can i reload my brass? The brass has the flutes in the brass and some of my brass has dents in the cases.

I am hoping to buy three more flats.

The flute marks left are cosmetic - I've reloaded mine without issue (well except finding them as it flings them quite hard out of the ejection port) the only cases that can't be used are if they hit the ejection port too hard and really dent the side of the case - you can buy an ejection port buffer - or just put some of the soft side of self stick velcro on that area.

I had one of these once.(Springfield SAR-8) I fired it from my parents house into a pond in the pasture. I did not think much of it at the time because we would often shoot from that porch. Of course later on, my Dad pointed out the dents in the ceiling!
