Looks like a few people have more money than common sense or they are just plain scared stiff. Its just part of the crazy buying that is going on right now. Our prez sure woke the gun community up.
Wow...the auction started at $55 for a Lee 5.56 deluxe die set and a FC die....and there are already 13 bids raising the price to $160+!!!!!....I can't believe these guys are real bidders....I mean how can they not know the street price???...looks as if they were born yesterday...
Must be something in them dies...gold perhaps??? who knows what's inside them?
Haha!...these bidders must be aliens .... from Mars...
I do not understand this at all. People are so crazy.
I will bet you a dollar to a doughnut hole that before this madness is over, some one brain celled idiot will bid a thousand dollars for a die set. Probably a military caliber like this one.

Everybody and their brother have become commercial loaders. They're capitalizing on the panic and profit and willing to pay the exhorbantant prices to get into the game while they can. Even though they themselves are getting raked over the coals. Just look at what small rifle primers are going for on Gunbroker.

What fun it is to watch these things go on, no? Ha-ha!! I suppose despite ALL the negative things arising as of late, the silver lining is the good time we all receive watching (and reporting on) the mass-foolishness unfold before our very eyes!
and "Lubedude", that is THE NAME I would have liked to use on this forum had it not already been taken by you! Good show!
A government that robs from Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.
Ebay has really taken on a life of its own. I wouldn't label the buyers as stupid but definitely desperate. Product supply is drying up everywhere and sellers are cleaning up as a result. I don't agree with the outrageous opening bid amounts but i do think ebay is a good alternative to finding what you want. I think its nothing more complicated than a changing marketplace. Im glad to see that ebay is selling more of the parts that were once prohibited. I shop and sell on ebay and because its a legitimate venue, not to take advantage of anyone.
Check the bidding history. Seems like one bidder has run up the price; n***d. I'd think a dupe?
My Anchor is holding fast!
the idiot in our white house must have stock in gun and ammo companies.
It will blow over. The gun control bs is here to stay for 4 years I fear, but the manufacturing capability will catch up to demand by this summer. Remember last election?z
Airplanes and guns should always be made out of metal.
$212 for a Lee die set makes the Dillon carbide die seem cheap.
Ought to put mine up for sale...if they're dumb enough to pay, I'm smart enough to let them.
My local Walmart still has the RCBS dries on the shelf. I need to look and see if its worth buying and reselling.
Wow! Words fail me. I just don't know want to say.
Hell, now I'm thinking of de-capping, tumbling and really spiffing up a hundred empty brass .223 casings and putting them up for auction. Might even call them vintage or "impossible to get" or "bench tested" or "firing line proven."
I bet I could get a hundred bucks for them.
I gotta think about this. . .
All I can say is... WOW!
Be prepared in the near future for new members with a post count of "1" asking questions like "how much powder do I put in an assault rifle bullet??"
This is getting more interesting (and frightening) by the hour--no point in counting days anymore.
