you ain't gonna see anything on the news.
I've seen quite a bit of it on the news. Fox news of course
One of the greatist delusions in the world is the hope that the evils in this world are to be cured by legislation.- Thomas Reed (1886)
"The Democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give it to those who would not."-Thomas Jefferson
You know...many times in my life I've been asked about things like Pearl Harbor and often about Ms. Fonda's antics during Vietnam and the question is always....when are you going to forget them, it's over, when is it time to forgive and forget.......my answer is always very simple....Never.
In the next 10-30 years, very few people will know the significance of the date December 7, 1941. It will be something only read about in books. No one alive will have lived through the actual events and truly knowing the impact of WWII will be lost. That's the way it works for humans.
This day was all ways hard for my dad he was in the Army Aircorps 7th AF they called themselves the pineapple airforce started in hawaii and went all the way across the pacific . Dad said when the war was over out of all the fighter pilots that went with them only a handfull came back alive. The one thing he did love to do was to fly he flew p38 p40 p47 p51 and the p61 night fighter. The aircraft he liked the best was the p51 he said when it was trimmed out if you leaned forward the nose would pitch down slightly he had a lot of hours in a 51 flying escort from IWO to japan and back with the 29s. There's three days I go and sit by his grave today, his birthday and Veterans day.
For those that have never been taught or forgot over the years. And the words I will never forget.

I always remember December 7th and remind others of this day. This December 7th was a very sad one. My wifes Grandfather passed this am. He was a spry 90 years. It was sudden but I'll always remember this day now. He was a merchant marine in WWII. Thank You to all the service men and women. Thank You!!!!
A big plus to Thank You's for our armed forces. Were it not for their sacrifices, we likely would not be sharing this forum. My hat is doffed to all!

Looks like it almost forgotten here almost as bad as the real world!
These aren't my words but I certainly agree
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
Studying history is necessary to avoid repeating past mistakes. This
saying comes from the writings of George Santayana, a Spanish-born
American author of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries."
It means don't regard the subject of History lightly, as being purely academic. It has great practical value in the lessons that can be learned which can be used to make wise decisions in the present.
Human nature has remained more or less constant throughout the centuries and many of the issues we face today are at least similar in some respects to the problems of the past. By taking note of the bad decisions persons made in the past by following natural human inclinations, we can avoid the temptation to make a similar bad decision today if faced with a similar situation. But, if we forget the lesson of the past, we will most likely follow the same natural human inclination and make the same mistake as persons did in the past.

I am sure there are MANY here that can tell you about friends or relatives that were there at that time.
None of us will ever forget. We lived thru the war. We watched the films at the movie shows each week. After the war ended and TV became available many of us watched VICTORY AT SEA every Sunday and saw what those brave military folks went thru.
WE had many relatives friends and neighbors return with missing limbs and messed up minds.
NO sir MY generation will never forget.
It is now up to you younger folks to pick up the torch and teach the next generation
My question is ARE YOU UP TO THE TASK.
WE WON. WE BEAT THE MACHINE. WE HAVE CCW NOW.

Safeguard our way of life...Defend the Constitution against ALL Enemies, Foreign and Domestic!!!
A number of years ago I watched a special about Pearl Harbor that was run on Dec. 7th. Part of it was filmed in Japan and one man said....when will the Americans learn to forget the bombing of Pearl Harbor....and I thought to myself....I wonder when the Japanese are going to extinguish the Hiroshima flame?
To the best of my memory Japan has never admitted to any wrong doing at Pearl or any of their other actions during the war in the Pacific.
WE WON. WE BEAT THE MACHINE. WE HAVE CCW NOW.
You must remember that Japan "Yamamoto" always assumed the USA would negotiate a peace settlement after the attack..........not ever remotely realizing that it would piss the United States off.
And as history now shows the US of A did get pissed off.
