    Virginian Dragoon .44 mag

Does anyone know much about this revolver? What is it worth? I am thinking about selling/trading this revolver or my Ruger SBH in the same caliber to get either a SA in 357 mag or in 45 Colt, or maybe a lever rifle in 45-70. I already own a Marlin lever gun in 357 and an Uberti in 45 Colt.

    Interarms Virginian Dragoon .44 Mag
    Date: 1974
Stamped "Yorktown 1781-1981" under the grips.
Also stamped "Sic Semper Tyrannis" on the Cylinder

It shoots as well as my SBH, but the Ruger has scope rings incase I want to really reach out some day.

These are highly under rated guns. I had one for years and never had a problem with it. I've seen them on GB listed for $450-500, weather they sold for that or not, I don't know. They are well built guns though.

I have had a couple and still have one. I love the gun and will never sell it. Ron

A pal has a stainless steel Dragoon in .44 mag. Really it's a superb shooter...I think it's every bit the equal of Ruger's Super Blackhawks.

Very strong, accurate revolver. I had one in .375 super mag for a while. The gun was machined so tight and perfect I had trouble with WW brass, only stuff made for .375. Rim thickness was all over the place and I had to file them to get many to chamber. I had no lathe so filing brass and fixing primer pockets got the best of me. But the gun was deadly.
I shot other calibers friends at IHMSA had and all were good.

I have had 3 over the years. They are good guns, but seem to need a bit of braking in. More so than most.
As far as price goes, I would expect to have to pay $350-$425 range. I have seen many go for $350.
I bought a nice one a year ago at a gun show for $325 and felt I got a good deal.

I have had a 44 since 78 with no problems. I do not have enough strength in my hands anymore for the wood grips, and it bust my knuckles with heavy loads, so I picked up a sbh and use it now with a set of houge grips. My son will be getting my dragoon for christmas this year.
