Does the ruger blackhawk in 30carbine come wih a 357 conversion

I already have a Universal M1 carbine and I would like to get the 8 shot ruger blackhawk in 30 carbine too. If you can purchase another cylinder for the 357 that would be perfect.

You would also need to change out the barrel for that. It wouldn't be the best idea to try to push a 358 projectile down a 30 caliber bore.

No...there is no conversion for a 30 carbine BH since it shoots a smaller bullet diameter than 357.
There is a 9mm/.357 Ruger BH convertible.

You might be able to pull something like that with a Dan Wesson, but not a Blackhawk. In the DW, you would need to swap out the cylinder and the barrel. I am not sure if the cylinder timing would work between the two calibers though. It would also be a very custom gun as I don't believe DW ever offered a revolver in .30 carbine.

    they didn't.
and the 30 carbine is 308, mine is anyways.
i use 313 sized boolits in it because that is what works best with the thinner 32-20 brass.

    Yah, A .357 blackhawk! That'll convert most.
We need somebody/something to keep the government (cops and bureaucrats too) HONEST (by non government oversight).

Every "freedom" (latitude) given to government is a loophole in the rule of law. Every loophole in the rule of law is another hole in our freedom. When they even obey the law that is. Too often government seems to feel itself above the law.

    Good morning
Just get yourself a RBH 30 Carbine cylinder and barrel. Frame is the same as I understand. Or better get the whole revolver. Thay are out there if you are willing to hunt and wait.
First time I fired one was out at Ft. Hood on a pistol range. Our armorer had cases of 30 Carbine not carried on the books. Popping away at bunnies while cruising about the tank trails on an M60A1 is great sport.. even though not approved as good military conduct.

I know guys who have shot 3220s out of them. I dont know what if anything you have to do to the gun to do this though.

    Good morning
I am sitting here wondering how a 32/20 is going to fit in a 30 carbine chamber? I reload both and they are a bit different in diameter plus a 32/30 has that rim as all dash cartriges do..

    Missionary -
I have a new model BH in 30 carbine. I find it very difficult to use with carbine reloaded ammo. It tends to bind on the recoil shield. I prefer the 32-20 brass. I size them with the carbine FL sizer. The only issue I've had with the 32-20 is a batch of R-P brass. About one-third would not fit in the Lee hand priming unit and many of them would bind on the recoil shield. However, this is the only time I've hand problems with the 32-20s.
On the other hand, I've had no issues using 45acp in a .45 convertible.

Thank you for clarifying that. I was wondering how a 32/20 would fit into a 30 car chamber without some effort. I am going to have to study up on this ..

    32-20 in 30Carbine Ruger SBH

Within our forum here, a well known member...Beagle did some very good work with this concept and his article written in Cast Pics/articles by members will give you all the info that you need/want. I followed his suggestions and successfully made a batch of 32-20's that work exceptionally well in my 30SBH. I load them with 32-20 dies, have no problem with OAL, get good accuracy, and no problems with clearance to recoil plate or extraction. Only a slight taper crimp is necessary to hold the bullet as the rim does the job for OAL. Bullet and powder charge are the same as for 30 Carb cases. There is nothing to speculate/worry about...it works and works well. LLS

If .30M1 is binding make sure your brass is completly free of lubricant and the chambers on the cylinder bore are dry and free of oil as well. The slight taper of the M1 brass will cause it to slide back and bind the gun if there is any lube or oil in the chambers.
