After trimming the hulls it looks to me that the sidewalls seem pretty thick for roll crimping them. How do you guys that roll crimp the hulls skive them? I have a few ideas, but I want to go with the way that is proven to work, Thanks......

I only skive hulls (all gauges) after trimming them shorter if I am going to do a fold crimp. If I am doing a roll crimp I don't want them skived at all, thick isn't a problem with a roll crimp but rather in many cases can be an asset at least in my experience.
I'm with Turbo.
Thanks guys, I was thinking the thickness would hurt not help, thanks again............steg
hair drier will help but go slow a 410 heats VERY quick
oh what are you loading? a 444 case may be better
Mostly AA hulls, someday I'm going to try 444's
You will have no troubles at all roll crimping those thick hulls. That is if you are using a power crimper, (the kind that fits in a little drill press). You might use a little WD-40 in the crimper head every 5 or 6 shells, not too much, just a little.
I've been using a touch of beeswax to the crimper, working out well, shells cycle thru my Mossberg 500, .410...
Beeswax! Now that's a plan. I think that will work alot better than WD-40. Will last longer at least.
One application of the beeswax goes a long way....
I hear the bees in California are going on strike, First the surfboards, then skis and snowboards, bullet lube, and now this!
