Hello, everyone. I was wondering if anyone has used .411-.412" dia. plain-base bullets in this caliber? Not looking to rock a Rhino..just target accuracy with reduced loads? Thanks.

I haven't even seen one in real life; but here are my thoghts on the matter.
Plain based boolits work well in the the .45-70 and .40-65; so I see no reason that a well fitting boolit wouldn't work for your .450/400 NE, was there a BP version of this cartridge?

Hello, MK42gunner. This one was never a B.P. number. I shoot P.B. in a .40-70 21/2" sharps & thought this one could be treated same way. Thanks again.
The 450-400 3 1/4 inch was BP, but the 3" was a modification for cordite. John Barsness did an article in one of last Handloaders on loading for the 3" version, and he did work up a CB load. I don't recall now if it was PB or GC.
