...............Run a lubed tightly patched rod down the barrel to the breech. WIth a Sharpie or similer marker draw a circle around the rod at the muzzle and then a straight line for an inch out from the muzzle on the rod. Now pull the rod out of the barrel and mark a circle 24" down toward the jag end from your mark on the rod at the muzzle.

Run the rod back in so your back where you were before with the straight line striaght up on the rod. Now slowly pull the rod out and stop when the bottom circle appears at the muzzle. Look at the straight line's position on the rod. If it is now on the bottom of the rod, you have a 48" twist. Ie: 1/2 turn in 24 = one full turn in 48". Or you can figure 1/4 turn per foot and go from there for whatever you end up with.

............A varistion...........same tight patch rod setup, mark a spot on the barrel and rod, draw a line on the rod streight out Push the rod in, when the line comes around to your barrel mark, mark the rod, pull it out and measure the distance between the marks. Measurement is twist in inches, no figuring needed.
