I have a Pedersoli rolling block rifle for some time now and have been having trouble getting cast loads to shoot in it well. I have been using several boolits in the 150 to 175 gr range without getting groups smaller than around 3 inches at 100 yards with it. Yesterday I tried a new load consisting of a Lyman 311299 200 gr boolit cast from WW and lubed with 50-50 alox and beeswax with at gas check. I seated the boolits to the base of the neck and used 18 gr of IMR 4198 and a styrofoam filler. Results were great with 10 shot groups running in the 1.5 to 2 inch range. I fired four 10 shot groups and they averaged 1.65 inches. These were fired from cross sticks as I use this rifle for long range cowboy competition and wanted to see how the load did. I was so pleased that I plan to try this load out at 200 yards as soon as I can find time to reload the empties.
