maybe try letting them cool down for a 10 count before opening ,or you might be binding or you might have a dirty mould or alloy ,, just a couple off the cuff....Dean

Smoke the blocks, Lee-ment mold?
1. clean mold very well, boil in water with a few drops of dish detergent, scrub cavities with Bon Ami using a pencil eraser. Clean again.
2. inspect cavity with magnefier, remove burrs and protrusions with an exacto knife.
3. If you are still having problems, do a search in the archives for leementing a mold. Dale
Check the mold for burrs.
Has it ever dropped bullets easily? If so and now it is starting to hold on to them, you might have some lead build up on the face of the mold that also works as a burr.
Check them, clean them and try again.

Big Bore = 45+
Two things that I have discovered while casting big bullets are that the harder the alloy the less the shrinkage. Bullets cast in linotype need a little more persuation to let go. Second, I have found that by turning up the temperature of the bottom pour makes them drop out easier.
The best way I have found to locate burrs is to lightly brush the cavity and edges with a Q-tip then use the back of an E-xacto knife to lightly drag over the burr.
Years ago, I had a Lyman Postell type bullet, that wouldn't drop from the mold. Finally determined, the cavity was cut a couple thousandths off center. Sent it back to Lyman, they confirmed this, and sent me a new mold.
Thanks for the advice I turned the heat up and the bollits droped with 1 little wack but the weight went down to 325 + or - 1 gr from 330 331 . Thanks again
