OK Guys,
Does anyone know what the hell the case length is for the 7.35 carcano?
I've found three different sizes in three different books.
2.010
2.015
2.027
I need to know which one is right.
Thanks,
Denny

With that much confusion I would try to get hold of a factory round and measure it. I have one old fired military cartridge lying around which measures 2.018". It does not appear to be crimped over from hitting the end of the chamber, so it is probably safe.

The 7.35 carcano case length is listed as 51mm or 2.007 inches I would guess that 2.010 is the correct length.

I'd suggest you go off the OAL of the chamber neck. Make a chamber cast (regular alloy will work fine for this application although cerrosafe is inexpensive and works extremely well) and measure the length of the chamber neck. Trim your cases only if the case neck is longer than the chamber neck and then only .005" or so shorter. Most milsurp chamber necks are generous in length. There is no sense trimming cases to some arbitrary "trim to OAL" when your chamber will tell you what is needed.

Yea Larry, I thought of that, I have cerro but didn't want to get into the
hassel if I could help it.
Thanks,

Or start a .308" jacketed flat base bullet into a fired case backwards, close the bolt, remove carefully, and measure.

I pulled a couple of military rounds out of an original Societa Metallurgica Italiana box and they measure 2.018" just like NV.
I've got another lot of boxer brass that measures 2.004 to 2.008. The only difference I can see is that the military brass necks are crimped, contributing to the extra neck length.

OK Guys, Thanks for the info.
I,m trimming to 2.010 and they
work fine.
