Well Well Well I have to say man you guys rock. I wish I had the skill natural ability and knowhow oh yea and the money to play like that. Very nice oh and I hate you lol.
Reloading to save money I am sure the saving is going to start soon
No need to hate. All I have told my wife is, "All you need to build anything is one of everything." However, when you are building a custom door under her sink so the irons and dryer shut off, don't blame me.

Some stuff is fun the other is a "job". At least they hold off on calling your stuff "junk" when you make it happen.
It also cleans up the counter tops.

I have the plans to this press, but I asked a machinist and he does not know what 1018 CR is(I live in Australia) and reckons it would cost me around the $700 mark,Eeek!
Is there an updated plan, with all the materials that you need, like what size bronze bushings, the adapter for the 7/8x 14 dies,I'm finding it hard to explain to machinists and engineering guys, they don't have time to go on the web to look at the thread on Cast Boolits. What I need is a complete list of everything needed, then give them the plans,so I can get a firm quote
Hope you can help
TIA

no34570,
1018 CR= 1018 alloy cold rolled steel, a mild steel alloy with .18% carbon.
Good luck on the project!

Hmmm, here's but some odds and ends i had made to get by a little easier:
A proper handle on my bar mould
Flash hole uniformer/deburrer
Universal deprimer from an old wirecutter
Case mouth expander/uniformer
45-70 decapper from a golf ball (they're generally good as handles!)
Upped the Lee trimmer because of authritis
Cutter for 308 and 323 gas checks
Former for the checks
Sizer and seater for the above mentioned
Bigger better lock nuts for standard dies
Will be back with more.
To build the gas check trimmer in .30 caliber, simply use a ¼ washer welded to a 1/4x20 nut. The 1/4x20 bolt turns freely to push the gas check out.

I just got a neat little arbor press. I didn't make it but it is homemade.
I came across it on eBay last week and got it for $21.00 with the shipping. I couldn't believe that no one else had bid on it.
When I got it I was really impressed with it. I'd thought maybe it had been made from an old bottle capper. It's small and light but stable and pretty stout.
Its pretty ingenious, who ever made it must have been a machinist, its almost as if it had been factory produced. Turns out the ram is actually a De-Sta-Co Model 610 Straight Line Action Toggle Clamp. The specs for the clamp state its got an 800lb holding capacity. The ram is threaded 3/8-16 and its got a stainless steel bolt with a flat head in it so it's adjustable. The height can also be adjusted by loosening the bolts on the clamps for the head.
Once I got to looking it over it almost seems like it was built specifically to use with a Lee Loader. I tried it out with my 45 Colt Lee Loader. I went through the steps and made one round. It was perfect for it, if it wasn't made for it, must have been something similar.
I need to clean it up a little and lube it first, then I'm going to load up 50 or so rounds.
I couldn't have bought the materials for it for what I paid for it.
We use those clamps at work for fixtures. They won't actually apply their rated load. They will just hold that when they are over center but I imagine it will still work ok for lee loaders and such.
An operator 2 nights ago destroyed 3 of them before getting me cause he just couldn't figure out why? Bushing locator detent was frozen up causing the bushing to bind on the mandrel and yank the whole part right out of the fixture mangling those destaco clamps.
I can tell you paid less than 1 clamp cost new.
Anybody that uses the Lee Turret (not the classic turret press) knows that spent primers go EVERYWHERE! I made this little gizzmo to fix that. I also have two Pro 1000 and got tired of having to remove the press to empty spent primers. I drilled a hole in my bench and fixed a catcher under that.
These fixes make my Lee presses a real pleasure.
Worth being a sticky, so it is done.

Had a 7 x 7 slab of aluminum laying around. An hour on the CNC resulted in this nice ingot mold... come to think of it; maybe I should put some sort of handle on it.
