Bern scrap can quite good. The cores of J-word bullets are soft lead, as are .22 rim fire pills. They make good casting fodder when blended with harder alloy. I reckon we will have to be leary of the lead free projectiles that are being sold, but have not encountered those yet in my niche of th' wood.
For free, sure couldn't hurt. If it smashes w/ a hammer, it's castable.
