Phillip, that is a good one. I remember seeing that about 10 years ago and it is still funny.

HI,
KEEP SAFE BS.
Great thumbnail Doc Hiwall.
When I was at Elmendorf (Anchorage), I was a volunteer conservation officer on base. We would deal with the problem bears (brownies and black bears) with 12ga "cracker" rounds. They were a pyrotechnic that would make a loud boom and usually that worked to scare them off. You might want to see if the troopers wildlife folks will come out an trap them before you do the 3-S's, especially since you have already mentioned the SSS on a public forum.
I definately understand your plight. Fortunately, Alaska is FAR more understanding when it comes to shooting bears in defense of self and others than the lower 48 states. I have had a few run-ins with brownies on the Kenai and once near Petersville (south of Denali) and it'll get your heart pumping, that's for sure. Especially when you have your family in close proximity. Fortunately, I didn't have to shoot one in defense. Good luck getting rid of that sow! One way or the other!!!

I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.
Tim Treadwell won't like this thread. Oh that's right he's piled up somewhere.

Scott, that is so wrong I'm still laughing.

you need a sign or a phrase that sounds the all clear
a few ideas , i haven't seen them bears in a few days , so i stopped carrying the rifle every were.
or maybe the best yet give the DNR / fish and game credit for it , i heard fish and game helped us out and trapped them bears and moved them to the wildlife refuge.
some new wild story that is both complete fiction and a way to say the bear problem is gone
i saw a light in the sky , and now i haven't seen the bears for days
something that is both unconfirmible or points the blame in some imposable direction like like some tough old lady so frail she looks like she will break a hip at any moment , gave he bear a beat down with her walker.
Bullshop, I'm disappointed in you. Real Alaskans don't need guns to deal with bears

Doc, I think that I recognize the guy in that picture. I think that he is the fruit loop naturist that I saw on TV several years ago who preached that bears were gentle animals that were just misunderstood. He camped in bear infested areas & played with them when he had the opportunity. I can't remember all the details, but I think that either he or his girlfriend ended up getting eaten by one of the bears that he had been playing with.
He was a real nut job.

Jim, they both became casualties, as I recall.
The girlfriend just ruined my enjoyment of watching that bunny lickin' bear bait acting up for the cameras, trolling himself back and forth in front of all those grizzlies. Kind of like that kennedy plane crash. He was a fool to have flown in that weather with his quals and passengers, they were fools to have gotten in a motor vehicle with a kennedy around water. The ladies didn't deserve it though.
I dunno, she may have been as foolish as he, but what a horrible fate for being enamored of an idiot.
