Ranch Dog 225-50TLC RF & Rabbits

This is not rearly hunting in the true form, But is Rabbit control. I shoot a lot of rabbits on properties to try control their numbers. as over & down under here the rabbit is out of control in some areas in the South Island.
This is a few of one nights night shooting, that I did last week.
I have been using the Ranch Dog 225-50grain TLC RF. They are cast from 2/3rds wheel weight & 1/3rd scrap lead. they are Gas checked with 2ply alloy drinkcan checs from one of Charlie's checmaker 111, They come out at 8-9 thou.
the load is win small pistol primer and 7.7 grains of Lil-Gun out of my CZ 527 .22K Hornet. The load is doing 2250 FPS. The load works very well, Kills well with the big flat point. You here it hit with a solid thump
I use these cast boolit loads with complete confidence.

    Cheers Euan.

Looks like a truck full of hog bait to me. Good shooting.

    Jeff,
that was about 40 or so on the ute, from 180 for the 7 hours that night, My son needed some for bait. As he was starting a TB ferret survey.
I hope all is well for you up there after the Quake.
    Cheers Euan.

That sight brings back memories; Ahh! Saturday nights, a brick of .22rimfire, which ever rifle was operational at the time and two potato bags (30 per bag). Three in the vehicle, driver, shooter and lighter. Oh! and a Cf or Sg for any fox that stuck his nose out.

Needed a shot of something stiff after the night was over just to warm us up.
