Very impressive! How are the molds made?
Ever thought about taking that liquid lube, skipping the molds, and pour it directly into your lube sizer. Been doing it that way here for over 20 years with total satisfaction.
I found this by total accident
but find a pill bottle about the same size as your lube reservoir
fill the bollte with your melted lube as it hardens it creates a hole in the center
I just cut the pill bottle in half with a razor knife and remove the lube stick
then press stick onto threaded bolt and proceed lubing
I can reassemble the halves later with duct tape and do it all over again
Hit em'hard
hit em'often
I am like Ben, I just pour mine right into the reservoir..
Me too, but if I ever change my mind Texrebel's got a really good system there. Consider it bookmarked.

Oh my!
That's how mine is made. The first time I used it I made a slight mess with the lube leaking from the bottom. Oh, I used dowels in place of the spikes.

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?
Just curious. Why use the dowel/spike to create a hollow centered lube stick?
Is there a reason, or can you just fill the pvc pipe/pill box/mold of choice and make a solid cylinder?
for some sizers (lyman 45 and 4500 and rcbs sizers) you need the hole to fit over the threaded rod that is in the lube chamber.
Star lube sizer uses solid or ones with holes, Catboat.
Tex, that lube will never work. You're going to get flyers, un-godly leading, and your barrels may even melt.
Why?
Because your lube mold set up is entirely TOO CLEAN.
No mess. No spilled lube anywhere. No overflow evidence. No kicked over cans or chairs or peeled paint where you swore a blue streak when the lube started going everywhere.
Therefore, I would use that lube at your own risk.
I did not take pics of the mess when the mold fell over, or when I burned myself on the lube pot, but this lube does work well, and is easy to clean up after it cools

I have been using 1inch PVC for about three years now to make my lube sticks. I make them solid as I use a Star. You just buy a cap for the end and no spills. What was not said is about the removal of the lube after it turns hard. If you spray the inside with some cheap olive oil spray,it will slide out with no problems. I also make my lube sticks 6 inches instead of 4. On the Star you only have to put a metal clamp over the weep hole to use this size as they last much longer. I prefer the pre-made sticks so that I just put in another and keep on putting out bullets. You have no time waiting for the lube to set to the correct hardness before you may continue. I use 90 -100 pounds of pressure on my air cylinder and soft lube will go all over the dang place.

Thanks for the info about the requirements for a hollow lube stick. I never knew some lubrisizers required it. I bought a used SAECO unit 20+ years ago, my first and only, and never used any other-so I didn't know.
You learn something everyday-whether you want to or not.
I'll try the suggested method-but make solid sticks for my unit. Thanks for the original posting, sharing your method, and providing pics.
Good way to make hollow stick lube, BUT that lube ain't no good! it's got cracks in it!
Never be able to fill the grooves with them cracks in it!!! You better send
it to me I can fix it.

So Tex Rebel I stole your idea and started to build one of your set-ups last night. I will post a pic when I get it done. I am just sick of being in the middle of a nice sizing run and run out of lube.
Thanks
