Hey pat- just saw you asked about my L2 lights
I have a bunch!
My fav is the L2 body with an HA III forward clicky cap (15 bucks on solarforce-sales) and 1 of 2 emitters, depending on what I am doing:
generally pocket light: LC-XP G 3 mode light. Has 100%, 40%, and 10% output. They claim its near 300 lumens, which I doubt. Probably an honest 220-225 out the front? Not sure- definitely brighter than my fenix TK10 and I thought that thing was a torch and it is rated at 225 OTF.
The other is my single mode setup: LC-XP G single mode light- same as the above, but only has full bore 100%
These things light up the night. Great voltage range on the inputs (.8-4.2v input) so they run on darn near any battery combo you stick in there. I like to run them with 18650 stick batteries. Great battery life and good output @ 3.7v
I have no skills with wiring- so forgive me if my electrical information seems quirky.
A couple of good heavy tie straps to secure the light and then a few good layers of Cajun Duct Tape. If you are wondering about Cajun Duct Tape that is the kind that you bring home off the job.

I have a G2 Nitrilon SureFire. It will light up night like day. Throws a "long beam" whereas my other LED lights won't. I do have a Streamlight penlight that will blind you and that is an LED.
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
About a month ago I picked up one of the new Maglight XL50's. It takes three AAA batteries, and is rated at 104 lumen's. It's doing better than the imports I've tried so far.
Pay, Get a good light. One affordable method is to get a Surefire g2 nitrolon and use a scope ring to hold it, and attatch it to the firearm. Works just like it was made for it.
Greetings Duct tape & rats ! Now that brings back to mind alot of good Friday night firefights down at Ben Lukers dump.
