    Caliber ID Question

What looks like a .223 but is slightly longer and is a military cartrige.
Also comes in 10 round stripper clips.
I have 5 unmarked boxed of 20 rounds.
Sent from my PC with a keyboard and camera on it with internet too.

222 Remington Magnum. but it's not a millitary cartridge.
Someone probably had an AR chambered in 222 Rem Mag ?

What's the head stamp look like?

The headstamp is standard military 4 charactor all opposite. I will get a chance for pictures in a few days.
They are in factory boxes in the stripper clips.
It might be .223 or 5.56 NATO

    Solved:
    5.56 Federal XM193AF Ball M193 55gr 10 rnd stripper clips

The clips threw me. My calibrated eye was fooled by the clips. It made the cases look longer by about 1/16 "

Yeah. All the cartridges look better at closing time.
