    Project Encore

Well gang, I've spent all summer working on Project Encore. Once upon a time I had a 45-70 Govt in a Tender. All factory. Well this summer I lived at work and told wife I would spend every free moment working to catch things up around here but I had to have a reward. My price?? A custom Encore. Factory job would not do ( this really is a downfall of mine, having what others do not ).
Well, so far Project Encore ( I'm thinking about adding the year to this name just because I'm not sure which year it will be completed ), is going well. I have everything except the barrel.

To enlighten you I will admit I am a member of Specialty Pistols, so this part is very neat ( at least to me ).

Every part of this gun has come from or has been touched by a member of SP or an advertiser there of.

    Frame Alaska Sp member
Wood Iowa Sp advertiser ( forend and a blank ) Gunstocks Inc
Blank turned into grip by Ga Jim Sp member and advertiser
    Scope NC Sp member
Rings & Base Orygun Sp advertiser and member of Sp KTS
Ring and Frame refinish by Sp Member and Advertister Gun Garage Inc
Even the first empty brass in 307 IMP came from a SP member ( I necked it up to 35 )
Oh and I can't forget the barrel. OTT custom in 14.5" with screw on brake.

so here are some pics for you

LUGNUTZ, I have a contender that looks just like it. Except mine has a barrel and the grip and forend are Pachmayer and the scope base and rings are different and the scope is a TC oh and the frame is a little different, but other than that.........

Great looking gun Keep us posted JETWRENCH

    Lugnutz,

Did you spec out the throat to more compatiable with cast? If so, did ITT work with you on it?

I was thinking of having them do a 45/70 bbl for my Encore, but with a proper throat and leade.

BABore I did not. But Mike at OTT is great to work with. Just give him a call and explain to him what your looking for and he can probably do it. Ain't seen much that he can't do.
