    200gr 10mm/40sw prototype

well as most of you know i finished my mold and cast up some of these bad boys. man thy look intimidating and should shoot great. i am going to make another mold that is 2 cavity's with handles the glove thing does not work to well. well here is the pic. real quick. the boolits weighs 207gr @ .630 long and .404-.405 di. with the other mold i will cut it to cast a .403 boolit which will be just a hair over 200gr. i decided to just go with one lube groove as that will allow it to be loaded in a 10mm or a 40sw easily. when going with 2 or more lube grooves you shorten the length of the top band making some loading for the 40sw hard because its loaded long compared to the 10mm and the lube groove(s) might show. so just one lube groove should be good. but the boolit just drops out of the mold and casts great. you can barely see a cast line in person and you cant feel it but the camera was able to see it. i was going to do a gas check but i want a 200gr boolit and if a gas check falls of in flight then its not a 200gr boolit any more. as you can see i can do a little polishing of the cavity as there is tiny tool mark you can see but you cant feel it with your finger nail. but the boolit is a touch bigger then i wanted so i don't want to make it bigger. so i will live with if for now.

Question Is the bullet too long for a 40 S&W?

I have been told that a 180 grain bullet is the heaviest which can fit properly in a 40 S&W without being seated so deeply as to bulge the case.

Is your 207 grain bullet functioning properly in a 40 S&W automatic?

I have had people shoot 220 gr out of a Glock 35. It depends on the barrles throat and bullet shape.
