Keeping at it is how ya find success , always remember . A bad day at the range is better than the best day at work

I haven't run cast in a eight m/m but it seems like there would a right load using the 5744 .

I've used 22gr. with a 195gr. LBT bullet in my 8mm Mau. Depending on the velocity & pressure you wish to attain, you can adjust the charge between 21gr. & 24gr.

mag01, If you have 2400, try 19 gr. behind that 175 gr. boolit. (I'm assuming you habe the same Lee mould I do.) The load is +/- 1600fps and very accurate in my Yugo 1948.

Another Load with Alliant Red Dot ranges from 9-12.5gr. Books says that max fps is +/- 1600 as well. I do get some vertical stringing when I don't elevate the barrel between shots though this may be a load better used with a filler although I haven't yet tested it.

I have been Having good luck with 20 grains of AA 5744, CCI 200 primer and a RCBS 8MM mould. The RCBS mould Casts at .325 Dia I Size it as cast Dia. We have tried it in a 1888 commission Rifle, Gew 98, 1893 Turk, and K98 all have shown remarkable accuracy. Velocity is about 1650 fps hope this helps
