Well I guess I am the odd ball. I like the 225450. I have a Lyman Ideal single cavity mold.
I use it mainly in a 223 T/C contender 14 inch barrel with a 12 inch twist. I find it very accurate at moderate velocity.I have never pushed it fast like I have the 225415.

Like BCall I use a magnifying lamp to inspect each boolit and then weigh to plus or minus 1 tenth grain................Terry

Listen to and read Beagle's articles on 22 cast. I have a single cav. 450, and will occaisionally cast 50 or so to shoot in hornet and K hornet. A single cav 22 mold is sort of like a hemorid to cast, so I don't do it often. To cast a thousand would be painful.

There is a 225450 on E-BAY right now, can't say that it looks like a shooter . I have read Paco's Hornet article several times trying to gleen any tips or tricks from a master cast shooter. He really favors the 225438 and 225462 in his Ruger, it is an interesting read and if you like Paco it is entertaining as well. He's the one who turned me on to AA1680 in the Hornet.

    Swamp,

For future reference, bookmark this site: http://www.three-peaks.net/bullet_molds.htm

It takes some time for it to load, but it's a good visual reference for many of the Lyman/Ideal moulds.

    Regards,

It's funny, the best accuracy to date for me in my hornet has been the 224450 pushed towards the upper end of the spectrum. They drop from my SC mold at .226, so I lube and check 'em and call it good. Using near max loads of lil'gun, I was getting 1.25" at 100 yards... With *open* sights. That's as good as I can shoot without the help of optics.

I wouldn't want to cast 1000 of the things for somebody either.

Collecting .32 molds. Please let me know if you have one you don't need, cause I might "need" it!

Thats great shooting! Wonder what it would do with a little magnification. What rifle , What powder -primer ? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yup, those things are a pain to sort!

As for the shooting, It wasn't every group that would go 1.25" but I had 3 or 4 that did, so it told me it wasn't a fluke. I need to find the load data, but it was a Stevens 322A rifle, powder was lil'gun and primer was probably CCI SR. I can't remember off the top of my head the powder weight, or if that's the correct primer.

After I size and lube I use empty primer trays to store the little bullets. Hint... use every other row, makes it easy to grab a bullet to be loaded.
