International Lawn Steel shooting

For my 100th post, we get to shoot tomorrow, and we get to shoot the mini steel tournament next week, and Tuesday is our regular shoot, overload of shooting, man I love this game!!! HI ROY!!!

We set a date for the work party to start building our third shooting bay for lawnsteel. Next Wednesday and it has turned into a work party/club picnic. Eddie has started leveling the ground for the floor and should be ready by Wednesday. We will set 9 post and secure the 2x6s frame work. We will let that set for a while to settle and firm up. Then come back and set floor and roof and build 3 benches.
That will complete the 3rd bay. As mentioned it has also turned into a club picnic. Nancy volunteered to feed the work party and it steam rolled from there Kevin volunteered to bring a grill then big bird volunteered to bring 10 pounds of hamburger so turned in to full blown picnic as most of the active member have signed up for the work party. I think we are going to get a lot done and have a great fellowship time. I love this game, see you at the range.

Its more of a big family then a club, were all here for one another, should be a great Saturday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, man I love this game!!

Fun times had by all, what a freaking blast, mini steel, bb guns, fun and laughter, Congrats Paul on figuring out and kicking our butts, Randy gets a well deserved 2nd, and I snuck in for 3rd, Nancy goes best female, and Tim, well he got the not even close award, great day at the range, Tuesday we shoot regular and Wednesday we get station 3 started, lets gooooooo, man I love this game!!!!!!

A good time was had by all. We had 13 shooters today so I shot the first game then gave up my seat to mark. Some shot good and some not so good, but even a crappy day at the range with all these fools is still a ball. We ( Robert aka Big Bird, Kevin and I) purchased 1136 pounds of lead and Kevin picked it up from the seller and brought it to the range for Robert and I to take our share home I got a little over 500 pounds and Robert got a little over 400 pounds and Kevin got a little over 200 pounds. Our cost was $1.15 a pound. I’m a happy camper. By the time I got home and unloaded mine and took a shower Big Bird had already melted some down and did a hardness test and called me to give me the BHN.
Tomorrow is the big day for the work party/club picnic to start the third shooting bay. Follow update to come.

And they did, what a day at the range, 14-15 people showed and bay 3 is now in the books, minus the floor, thanks to everyone who helped, Kevin on the grill, Nancy on the food prep and organization, and all the hard working group of guys that made it happen, Man I love this group!!!!!!!!!

Mini work day in the AM, going to try to finish the floor which would complete the project, other than moving the RR ties to make 3 lines, cant wait!

Goter done. Floors in all that’s left now is setting the timbers and targets. Big Bird will be posting the pictures later. Yea now we have three lines. I’m having surgery on my right wrist Monday for carpal tunnel and won’t be able to shoot for a couple of weeks, but I will be spectating. See you at the range, I love this game.

Basic, KISS theory, posts, 2x6s, Alumishield roof and 6" on the floors, and the benches are made of it too, cheap and easy, fun times for all, thanks for the compliment!

Missed ya today, only had 9, lots o injuries in the club and some much needed house repairs, but all in all a great day, got the RR ties unloaded and the 2 stumps Kevin removed, so now we need to re align all the RR ties for all 3 lines, extend the berm, and add targets, then we will have 3 ready to go when everyone heals up. CANT WAIT!!!
