Pewter & Yard Sales , if you want it send a lady

I have been looking on and off for months at all the yard sale I have time to stop at ,for pewter for casting
With no real luck , everything way over the price I want to pay for the tin content

So a week or so back I told my Lady I was looking for pewter plates and other stuff , to use for the tin content for casting

Tonight she stoped in after she got off work
Probely for the most part , because she missed my dog and wanted to pet him
And figured I would cook for her

But while we sat eating dinner
She told me I owed her $25 for the pewter stuff in the trunk

So when she was about to leave and go home
I got the pewder out of her trunk

OMG there must be 75 lb of old plates , bowls , stiens and other stuff
    I took a quick look
All but 1 piece apears to be pewter

Most of the plates and other stuff were priced like $ .50 or $ .25
The most costly thing I see is $2 for a big plate that must weigh 5 lb

I guess I will have to send her looking for WW and Lino next week
    God I love her

    John

Just be sure they dont have value out side of scrap metal. ive never seen a pewter stien for less then $75 and i know there is not that much tin in it.

Yup, Dad had a pewter plate from colonial times. wouldn't want to melt down that much $$$, for boolits. Never found out what happened to it.

    Oh crud
Now I will have to check and see if the stuff is realy worth something

Might have to sell it on Flea Bay if it is

But if I can sell some of the stuff , I can buy more

JD - real pewter is at least 85% tin. That's what pewter is - it's tin. Simple as that. enjoy Mike

i think that he meant the value of the peice would be more than its weight in tin.
