    my firts cast .308 loads

    they shot ok also
    2" @ 100 yards for 5 shots

    Good question asked by Buckshot. With that weight of bullet you might want to try a medium burning powder such as RL7, 3031 or 4895. 4895 is my favorite.

    Start at 26 gr and in crease in 1/2 gr increments. Use a 1/2 gr dacron filler. If your barrel is a 10" twist then best accuracy will come in the 1750 -1950 fps range. If it is a 12" twist then best accuracy will come in the 1850 - 2100 fps range. That is a good bullet for many .30 cal rifles.
