SAECO top punch recommendations for a new guy...

    Hello to you all,

While this is my first posting here, I am certainly not new to the shooting world or to casting... I am just about to purchase a new SAECO lubrisizer and I am hoping that the community here might give some advice to me concerning top punches, especially those who own the same SAECO machine.

I contacted Redding with this list of the molds I currently own and while I am appreciative of their efforts to guide me in the right direction, I wonder if it might be possible that one top punch might work with two or more nose configurations, especially the semi wad cutter bullets.

Here is my list of currently owned molds. I am about to purchase a SAECO #305 for my Marlins, especially after reading some of the information here. I am also contemplating the purchase of a Marlin 357, and since I missed the group buy on the Lee mold, it looks like the SAECO #354 may be in my future as well.

    RCBS 45-230-RN
    RCBS 38-150-KT

Some of these are from when I first started casting back in 1974... I would appreciate any recommendations that might save me from duplication.

Thank you in advance for your help!

A flat nosed punch a few thousandths smaller than your .358" sizing die will handle all of your flat nose bullets of .38 and larger size. That should simplify much.
