Seems the "other" category is 2nd only to the 45ACP.
That's where I voted for the 41 mag.
Probably a few other 41 votes there as well.

The 38/357 should have been lumped together along with the 44/44mag. Then look at the numbers. But man look at the people that like the 32mag, no wonder I can't get any new brass.

    HI,
I would be hard pressed to give up shooting any of my three favorites 22, 357. or 44.
I shoot at least 1,000 out of each every year.
But this economy may change that for me.

I own 2 centerfire handguns. A 10mm EAA Witness, and a 10mm EAA Witness Elite Match.

However, I will be adding another to the stable soon. A 10mm Fortis Bren Ten when they are released at the end of January.

When I come across the right one, I will be adding a S&W 1076 as well, and someday I will probably also have a 2011 frame built up in 10mm.

    So, for me, it is...10mm.

    Other favorites?

There's 32-20, 32 Mag, 7mmTCU (beat that for other) and 41 Mag now, 22 Hornet last but not least. All in handguns!
In all, the .41 Magnum would be one of my top choices for an all-around handgun if I were allowed to have only one. - Bart Skelton

I voted .357 mag. although more than half it's diet is .38's. Have and enjoy a lot of the other calibers as well. It's a shame this is center fire only in the poll because with the economy I find myself shooting .22 more than anything these days.

I had to vote .44 Mag. I don't always shoot "magnum" loads in mine, but I do shoot that cartridge more than others.

.38 Special is a very close second and I acquired a little Arminius HW3 chambered in .32 S&W Long that is an absolute blast to shoot! It just hasn't been shot much due to a shortage of components for me to load!

For reloading I would choose something like the .357/.38.

For target shooting I'd choose the .45 ACP in a target 1911 model.

For self defense hands down the .40 S&W with high capacity mags.

I had to vote, "other". How do you decide between .22rf, .38spl, .44spl, .44mag, .45auto, and .45Colt? I have all of the above and don't think I could do without any of them!

I love them all! Had to vote for .40 because I shoot so much of it per year. Outside of competition, I'm in .44 mag mode right now...next will be .357, then who knows? Maybe .475.

Re-read the question - it has nothing to do with making 'any' decisions.

You don't have one caliber that you shoot more than any other? Thats what the Poll is looking for, nothing apprehensive.

Big or small, I like e'm all. The one I use the most would be the 44 Magnum. Besides 22 LR, it's my only other 2 gun combination.

I voted .45 ACP because I almost always bring one to the range with me and put a few rounds down range. Close second would have to be .38 spc too, I always put a cylinder of 3 thru my j-frame, in addition to whatever else I've brought out.

Actually, so far this new year 22 hornet and .45 colt are the current centerfire winners, but It'll even out a bit more when it warms up a few degrees.

everyone knows the 44 mag is the best dammed sixgun caliber ever invented. Followed closely by the 38 special and 45acp. All you 45 colt guys have been reading to many gun magazines!

Love the one your with. (Or have shells for)
Reading can provide limited education because only shooting provides YOUR answers as you tie everything together for THAT gun. The better the gun, the less you have to know / do & the more flexibility you have to achieve success.

Yeah baby! Kudos to the great Stephen Stills and the late Billy Preston, who didn't even know they were talking shooting at the time!
