    .300 whisper die Question

    So many on this sight have such great machining capabilities, not to mention ingenious solutions to differing problems. Coming up with different tools or using different items to make useful tools to produce another caliber.

    I was wondering if anyone had use a cheaper set of dies in .30 luger, or .30 mauser, or 7.62 tokarov, or maybe even something else to make dies for .300 whisper?

    Will have one for an AR15 in the future, once my buddy reams the chamber and threads it.

    CH4D has a pretty good price on 30-221 (whisper) dies.

    Redding is the brand I ended up with

    I got the dies from Midway

    I also got a Lee 300/221 or 300 Whisper trimmer that works pretty well and quick

    Might be better to use a 221 Fireball to try to make a 300 Whisper die. Same case, just the neck is expanded to 30 cal.

    Dies are pretty hard, I imagine it would take some very good tooling to cut them.
