My Grandfather taught me to cast and reload back in the '60s. My dad taught my sons.
I just finished showing my grandson how to build 45/70s, well, at least he likes to pull the handle and place the shells in the holder.
He's a little to young yet for casting but I'll get that done in a few years.
It was a little more "emotional" than I thought it would be
Way to go. You are opn the right track and it is a memory you and he will always have.

Some where in my photo file I have a pic of my first granddaughter at about 14 months old seating in my lap pulling the handle of my lube a matic S/L 45 acp's, I couldn't get my fingers out of the way most of the time but loved every minute.
She is now 16 and this is her 7th year shooting CA.
