    35 Rem micro groove

Has any one tried shooting PP in a marlin w/ micro groove bbl. The 351 PP boolit 357max developed has me curious. I have a couple contender bbls in 35 Rem, but would really want it for the marlin.

I don't think it would work, but...... I don't know much.

I have never had a 35Rem, dang it, but I have patched for MG barrels in 30.30 and 45.70. The paper has to be tough enough to stand the displacement caused by the 12 grooves. My first attempt was with 9# and accuracy was bad. After switching to 12# things worked fine.
45 AUTO! Because having to shoot someone twice is just silly!

I would like to know myself, hate to invest in a .351 and .360 sizing dies to find out it won't work very well if at all. Mine will shoot the Ranch Dog boolit very well, but getting unhappy with the high gas check prices. I bet it would work but may take some time to work out all the details.

Would the short little neck of the 35 cases cause problems with paper patching? If so, how? If not, how come? I've no experience with paper patching--just curious.

The 300RUM has a short neck too and works just fine.

Have a friend that experimented with PP and the .35 Rem in a 336. Shot very well with 9# onion skin but I don't recall the dimensions he was working with.

That's good enough for me to give it a try. Worst case I'll have to get me a 358 win or 35 whelen.

There is someone on this forum doing very well with a 35 Remington. He had a thread going - Paper patching the 35 Remington (or something).

Yep that is for a pre-micro groove marlin.
