Now what am i doing wrong???

There for a while, i wasnt really having a problem with any of my boolits. I was getting leading, but the boolit it self was fine. Now all of a sudden this problem has popped up. I cleaned the mold with break clean before i used it and i pre heated the mold. Its a 6 cav lee. I dont get what my problem is. One side looks fine, then the other looks like crap.

    front side.

    back side of same boolit.

Crank up the temp on the pot, and possibly need even more preheat. Get them hot enough to frost and then back off on the temp if you don't like frosting. I am judging by the shiney boolit that you are still casting too cool. The six cav. should hold heat well enough to cause frosting if your melt and speed are up to par.

I concere. One side comming out good shows you were probably close but the mould not quite getting hot enough. The 6x are harder to get up to temp. Turn the heat up and go fast. Don't ponder the bullets wether they are comming out good or not. While you are looking the mould is cooling off.

i start my aluminums so hot they severely frost and wont harden i wipe them down with a rag after dumping out the lead then start casting and keep on going.
employing a damp rag as a heat sink as i go.
keep a bucket of water handy to rewet the rag as necessary.
