Adaptation and Improvisation: home-made Foster-style slugs...

Hi there all! I'm new to Shotguns, and live in a very restricted country as per laws on Firearms possession and usage...Licences are very difficult to get, and usually with massive fees and bribes One can get Shotguns mainly: O&Us, SxS especially. Recently: more pump-actions have come into the circulation, and even more recently: Semi-auto shotguns.

The same applies for ammunition too: though only BB Birdshot comes in and is available in licenced lots of 100 shells.

I recently got myself a legally licenced Turkish-made Magnum EFE Semi-Auto Shotgun, 18.5" Smoothbore BBL, 7-Shell Magazine, PGO. I also got some BB Birdshot to go with it. I needed something more so I "adapted".

Check out what I have done here: and tell me what you guys think. I respect your experience and opinions.

See what I did to cast my ideal ammo:

Let me know what you think? Many thanks!

Y-man. Great work! I really think you should consider changing your name to Y-not-man because you have shown what a little ingenuity combined with a lot of desire can do.

Good work! I saw the aboriginals in the Northern Territory sme years ago remove the lead from two shotshells and melt it down, The mould was made by shaping a hole that looked right with your thumb in the wet sand on the beach. You wouldn't want to waste that gun powder from the second shell either, so they stuck that in as well. Fired in a single bbl'd shotgun it was spectacular and I declined a shot.

    Absolutely brilliant...Well done

Bit of a coincidence. I just posted my quick and dirty method of producing 12Ga slugs when I noticed this post.
