"You couldn't give me a Lee die..."

That's what a member on another board said.

I hate narrow minded people. You like Ford, I like Chevy, etc., but fact is Lee will do the job as well as RCBS, Lyman, etc., is cheaper, easier to set up, has a stronger decapping rod, and produces ammo just as well as anyone else.

Now if you're talking about bench rest match quality, I might go with an RCBS competition die, Forrester, etc., but even then I wouldn't dismiss the Lee collet neck sizing system without giving it a shot.

    Rant away.

I've got a bunch of Lee dies.
The only two problems I ever had was I never was bright enough to make the collet neck sizing die work and one time I bought a set of 7x57 dies that had a .303 Brit sizing die in it (someone, somewhere, may have a rifle chambered for that particular wildcat, but it does require a sturdy press and cosiderable effort).
I've replaced a few of the O-ring collars with RCBS collars and I think I like the RCBS's a little better. Having said that, the Lees have never failed to produce quality ammo that shoots extrememly well.
    My die collection:
    Lee:
    .45 Colt, .45 ACP, .357Mag, 7x57, .45-70, .30-40
    RCBS:
    .25-06, 270 WSM
If I could afford all Reddings and Forresters, I'd buy them. Just haven't had the urge to spend the money.

If I remember correctly; the 1,000 yd. record for smallest group was held for a while by a shooter using a Lee Loader (the hand tool used with a hammer). I would be interested if someone would give specific problems they had while using Lee equipment that can be attributed to the equipment and not to operator error or impatience.

Some folks don't think anything can be good unless it's overpriced. NOT expensive. OVERPRICED.

I use several items made by lee, molds, dies, some shell holders, the list goes on. For the money lee products just can't be beat, and they work for their intended purpose very well.

Ben, Your picture says it all.

I have never had a problem with LEE dies and I have many. Yhey will load ammo better than I am able to shoot it.

I have all Lee moulds, a Lee 30-30 crimp die, and lee sizer/lube die.

    For my own rifles:

All my 06 dies are RCBS both standard and precision sets, my standard 30-30 dies is RCBS, and my cast 30-30 die set is Texan.

I would not use Lee dies on my own stuff , but would never refuse free ones

My Lee dies have served me very well. I guess I could pay twice to three times as much for a set of dies that do the same job, but why???

Some things are so simple, people just can't figger em out.
I told myself I'd get into reloading cheap, using Lee equipment.
20 years later I can't find any reason to upgrade.

In the last 40 years or so I've used just about every brand there is. Never had a serious quality problem with any of them INCLUDING Lee.

I have dies from Lee, Lyman, RCBS, Hornady, and Dillon. While the dies from the other manufactures feel more solid than the Lee dies, I can't tell any difference in the quality of the ammunition.

I've had both good and bad luck with Lee equipment, but the dies have always worked well. I load a lot of handgun ammunition on my Lee Classic Turret, and for that press I have not been able to find a better die set than the Lee Deluxe 4-die offerings.
