    359640PB-HP 45 2.1 Design Group Buy : INTERESTED?

45 2.1 recently proposed this design for a MiHec 2-cavity brass Cramer HP mould. I would like to see how many members are interested in this specific mould (as illustrated) so we can present the idea to Mihec.

I will post a list to confirm if we can proceed with this one.

A dual use 357 boolit, the top crimp groove is for the short N-frame S&W 357 cylinders and the bottom crimp groove is for the 38 Special and long 357 Mag cylinder wheel guns. Meplat to crimp groove is 0.318" and 0.357".

I'm interested (subject to funds availability). Any idea how much we are looking at for these?

That pretty much sums it up. Too many good molds of late.

Those Cramer style moulds are ingenious and I would be interested, but the machine work looks rather involved. So cost would be an issue. Any idea on a ballpark figure on price?

I was on the list originally, and I am still interested. I need a good mold for my 686 power port.

Ok Im confused here. Is this a totally different group buy from the original group buy?
Im good with either design, but can only do one or the other.

    LFB:

The original post by 45 2.1 was for this bullet illustrated above but it quickly changed into the Boomer Mikey single crimp groove design.

    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=52394

This current buy would be for the original 45 2.1 2-crimp groove design that will work in both short cylinder revolvers as well as longer cylinder guns !

I am reposting this to see if there is enough interest to warrant trying to make both moulds !
The two designs are competing for enough followers to make either one a go !

MiHec's 2-cavity brass Cramer HP moulds have been in the $85.00 range in the past.

I consider them to be a VERY fair price for such outstanding craftsmanship of an intricate design.
    They cast beautifully !

As I stated in the other post, I would rather have the double crimp groove so I will go here if enough interest warrants it be done.

What diameter would we order? The other thread said .359 - .360. From the name I would infer .359.

    Smile I'm In!

Count on me for a Mihec cramer-style double crimp groove mold, preferrably in .360" diameter. Easy to size down, but can't size UP! HP PB-- gas checks cost money!!

Like the others, the budget's getting very thin right now, but this is TOO GOOD to pass up-

I am in. I have a lot of S&W N frames and some longer ones and the dual crimp groove is perfect for this.

As far as money goes, it took my GB for the 44/444 Marlin about 2 1/2 months before it was being made and the money was asked for from Mihec so you have some time since there is so many GB being made right now.
