I am a many-times repeat purchaser of lead from Kathie (AKA The Captain), and want all to know she provides a clean product at a very modest price. Her lead is exactly as she describes, well-fluxed, and contaminant-free. I honestly don't know how she does it at the price-- her packaging is very professional, wooden boxed inside the postal boxes, and you can be sure it will arrive in excellent shape. On occasion, she has offered some brass as well-

I just received a box of 50+ lbs of stick-on WW lead from Kathie.
I don't have a brinell hardness tester.
I use my thumbnail, I got a nice scratch in the ingots
It is awesome, just what I need.

The Box was packed so well, it looked like Kathie hand carried it right to my door.
I get many shipments, most heavy boxes are partly crushed and look round when they arrive,
But none have ever been packed this nice.

OH, also great communication with Kathie.
when I first asked for stick-on WW, she was out.
I wasn't in a hurry, she kept me updated as she collected enough of them to ship.

Stick on WW’s are very soft, almost as soft as pure lead but not quite.

Clip on WW’s are much harder and are what people usually are talking about when they say they cast their boolits of WW alloy.

The smart people that smelt down WW’s separate the two types and smelt separately so that the hard lead from the clip on WW’s is as hard as possible and not diluted by the stick on WW’s. Plus they have soft lead from the stick on WW’s to boot for situations where they need soft lead.

Soft lead is mainly used for muzzleloaders and low pressure cartridges and some shotgun slugs like the Lee key mold. If by “round ball” you mean muzzle loader then the softer stick on WW’s would be best for that. If by “rifle 30 cal.” you mean a modern high pressure cartridge then the harder clip on WW’s would be best for that, probably be good idea to add some solder to the mix as well for rifle boolits. Most pistol boolits work just fine with just straight hard clip on WW’s with nothing extra added but for rifle boolits it is usually best to add some tin and usually the easiest best source of tin is solder.

I just received my first box of Lead from The Captain and I'm sure it is the first of many more.

Kathie provided great communication on the order. A great price of the Clip On Wheel Weights and very fast shipping.

I'm not sure I can say anything extra over what has already been posted.

The package was a work of art. USPS Flat rate box fully wrapped in reinforced tape with an inner box also wrapped in tape with a large amount of cushion wrap around the inner box. The post office brought it to the door in one of their plastic tubs as the total weight was 54 Lbs. The poor mail lady said it felt like a ton of lead... I could not tell her it was only 50 lbs of lead!
