    Dumb question but..

So I have this little .44 single percussion cap pistol. One of those little kits. I got my balls here, they measure right. So two questions here:

1.) what should I use for wads? Old cotton t-shirt scraps, barrel cleaning patches, paper towels?

2.) Whats the proper amount of powder?

What type of percussion cap pistol are we talking here?
We kinda need to know specifics.

I'd start out with 15g of fff powder. T-shirts would work but something a little stronger would be preferable like an old cotton dress shirt or something to that nature. If it's too thick you have a heck of a time getting the ball down the barrel.
    Aim small, miss small!

Its a kit called a "New Orleans Ace". I got it second hand but looks almost new.

I use pillow ticking. You can get it at wal-mart or other fabric store. Buy a yard of it and cut it into squares. you can prelube it or use it as a spit patch.
Never do anything that you will have to explain to a paramedic.
