    444 marlin

    Hello I have a 444 in a encore pistol and have been loading 255 gr. gc with 15gr. of red dot this load is supposed to be around 1500fps. I would like to get around 1800fps what powder and what gr of it would you folks recomend with no filler. by the way i,m new here and am glad to have found this site thanks craig in montana.

    jce, I have been shooting 42 gr. of 4198 behind a Saeco #432 265 gr bullet in a re-chambered 14'" Contender Barrel. The barrel was 44 Mag re-chambered to 444. The loading book says this load is shooting over 1800 fps , with good loading density. Btw, it`s the most accurate cast load I have found for this gun.---dale

    Thanks Dale . I am going to us this for my mulies and black bear this year and just started playing with the 444 I put a burris 3x on it and just got to work up a load. craig in montana.
