    PID controller and sizer heater

I have been doing some research here and learned quite a bit on the building of a PID controller for my Lee 4-20 Pro.
I am wondering if I can make the unit mobile and buy additional thermocouples for my smoker, Lyman 450 sizer heater, and other heating stuff in my shop. I would put plugs on the controller housing and the thermocouples rather than wiring direct.

If I do this, will I have to "reprogram" the controller each time for each device? (if I take it off the lead pot and plug in my lubrisizer heater, will I need to go through the auto reprogramming feature?)
Or do the units have "memory" features for different devices?
would this be a pain in the butt to switch over frequently?

It would be easy to install a small thermocouple in my aluminum base I built for the Lyman 450 heater plug...

If so, this would make the PID ideas more versatile and cost effective.

There are controllers that do store "programs", but this is different than you want.
You would need to reset the PID values (or auto tune) for every application.
Once you get used to the buttons, changing things around is a piece of cake.

I have similar setups to yours at work and home. It will work fine if you take the time to re-tune the parameters.
