I have been using the lee key drive slug for about four years now. blue magic case, 32.4 HS-6 powder and wwaa12sl wad. kills game very well recoil not bad.
My experience with the 12 Ga. Lee sabot has been bad. First, that spanner makes extracting the cast sabot a B! to get out of the mold. 2nd, I think it makes the round unstable. I used 35G of Universal in an AA hull w/ the 12 red wad. I shot a pattern w/ it in My H&R Ultra Slug. Went Back to the Lyman.
I used matches to put carbon on them and they drop free from the mold pretty easy, even though I used wheel weights. my Mossberg 590 with front bead site. I don't know, pretty hard to beat for the money.
Before I involuntarily parted out my Mossberg I was getting very respectable
3"-5"groups with any number of different loadings at 50 to 70 yards. I was using a rifled choke tube, and I do beleive it made a big difference with this slug.
