Been to long since I used it last ... question .
The xcb has three grease grooves .. Should I lube all three or can I use the last groove for crimping ?

Lube it, and use it for crimping. More lube less wear on your barrel. It was designed so must be best. Make sure the bullet fits your groove.
it depends on lube, and it depends on the load, and it depends on barrel length.

It also depends on how hot it is outside. Colder weather might like more lube, but in the summer you can fill one less lube groove to avoid lube purging. You'll have to try it both ways and see what your gun likes.
If you are seated to touch the rifling and you can crimp in the top lube groove, then I would probably not fill it and try it that way first.
I use Carnauba Blue in mine. Cold bore flyers with the Blue are almost non-existent.
What cartridge?
What velocity?
Why are you crimping?

This is in 308 semi ...
With that , do not have the capability to measure velocity .
Have been crimping in the past but with this am I wrong to crimp ?
Thank you gentlemen for the response so far , appreciate it much.

My question also, why crimp? Just crimp enough to straighten the flair out.
Good Luck,
Rick
I crimp for my Armalite AR-10 but not in the crimp grove, so using a taper crimp die. Armalite's are picky feeders. I use as close to a spitzer as possible. I don't have the NOE XCB bullet. Mine prefers NOE's 160 spitzer, conventionally lubed. It will feed the MP's 180 silhouette. I tried a bunch of different 30 caliber bullets and almost all had feeding issues. BTW, I couldn't get NOE's 200 grain spitzer to group. Though it feeds 100 percent.
Winelover
I only roll crimp if the boolit has a dedicated crimp groove .
No dedicated crimp groove ...
then light taper crimp once OAL has been determined .
If all the grooves look like Lube Grooves I lube all the grooves .
No right-wrong realy just do what works for you .
I use soft lube because that works best for me .
