    two tricks you can try.
    1. Seat the bullet a little deeper (assuming you don't have a crimp/crimpgroove as obstruction), this will break any seal made from aging lube or corrosion or whatever.
    2. instead of nippers or dikes, I use a multi gauge electrical wire stripper...it's like a pliers with alligator teeth, LOL.

I use a strong pair of lineman's pliers and the press. Ever since I started powder coating, I have never had a check come off. I put the check on before coating and they're basically glued on there.
I don't miss using hemostats or tweezers to fish gas checks out of cases.
Nines&Twos account was hacked....I couldn't get any help fixing it, so I made this is the new one.

I have had to pull gas checked boolits several times and I use a small punch to turn the GC sideways and grab it with a pair of hemostats. Works every time, and I can save it all.

If they are safe to shoot; I’d shoot them and start over.

Yes or kind nose needle, nose, pliers. Can be a little time consuming but you can certainly save the brass!!! I’ve salvaged 30-06 and 223/5.56 brass!

I also put the shell in the press, raise the ram, and use a pair of wire strippers to pull the boolit (and bullets too!!). If the gas check stays in the case, I just invert it and shake the powder out first then use a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the gas check out. Gas check usually comes out still attached to the boolit most of the time, so seldom have to pull a gas check out
