ILLEGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM
as they say in latin
The Winchester No.225 primer was a special larger size (0.225"-diameter, as compared to 0.210"-diameter for the standard Large Rifle primer) introduced in 1932 for use in certain .30-'06 match loadings. This obviously required a .30-'06 case with a correspondingly larger diameter primer pocket. It is also reported that the No.225 primer was used in some loadings of the .33 Winchester cartridge.
