Gosh, cast boolits are only used by cheapskates who don't want to support American bullet companies.

Don't get angry when I post something you don't like 'cause I'm just some anonymous nobody connected by electrons. One click and I'm gone.
I cast em and buy em, don't care as long as I got em!
Inlines are great for getting casuals into shooting BP. That's how I started long ago. I just wanted to extend my hunting season and bought a cheap CVA Optima at Walmart. Powerbelts and pellets were the first thing to buy because it was right there on the shelf.
Now I do as all of you do. Experimenting cooking up all kinds of things.
same thing as allowing crossbows in archery seasons
everyone wants a sure thing
to have a muzzleloader that will go bang even in a down pour is one of the advantages to inlines
everybody has their own idea of this and that and that is ok
that is why the site has a modern muzzleloader title, but the days of years past also remain in there for those who want it
being able to put a bullet precisely where you want at 300 yards + is one advantage that inline have over a more traditional flinter or percussion rifle with iron sights plus being able to increase the velocity over the more typical round balls and conicals helps flatten out the trajectory rainbow of those types of projectiles

Back when TC first came out with the Omega, a non-black powder shooting friend of mine wanted to get one for Missouri's Black Powder season. He wanted to use sabots and Pyrodex pellets. I helped him work up a load using combinations of the larger and smaller pellets and he ended up with a fairly decent load. As a non-black powder shooter, the rifle shot well enough for him and simple enough to load once a decent load was established.
I never did take to the inline type rifles, although they could really shoot well and likely even better if real Black Powder loads were worked up. The fast twist shot the sabot bullets well enough. We never tried mini's or maxi's in his Omega.

bullet to bore is the way to go
just like casting only with more cooper, or lead or cooper and lead
size your bullet to fit your bore then you have a match made in heaven
a sabot is the weak link in the chain
